Opinions on BFG A/T

I'm getting a good deal on 5 slightly used ones (spare brand new). 32x11.5x15. I'd rather have duratracs but out of my price range for the moment and my 30's are almost bald. What are your opinions on them if you have ran them?

Shane

Great road going tires and pretty good off-road in the rocks and dirt.

I've got close to 6 or 7k on my 32's and they show little wear. The set I had on my mothers XJ last almost 70-75k.

I'm on my second set, the first set went 60K+ and still had tread, but has some dry rot. They were about 10 years old. The new ones have been on for the last few years. They are the KO designation, and so far, they've been just as good as the first set, and both sets are far superior to the GY Wranglers that came stock. Those tires S*^%ked!!

I had the BFG A/T Ko's on the Grand Cherokee V8 for a while. Ran it hard on the street and a lot of forest roads, sand, etc. Never gave me any problems, never got me stuck, had much stronger sidewalls than the oem Goodyears that came on it (and seemed to lose sidewalls with amazing frequency!)

I run them on my rig. Mainly snow, mud, wet and dry pavement. They have never let me down yet. Great tires!

I just had a set of BFG KO's (31) put on a few weeks ago to replace a set GY wranglers. So far I like them a lot no road noise ride and ride great.

I've had BFG Ko's on 2 Cherokee's and a Toyota, never had a problem w/them, there good for at least 45000 w/reasonable care and rotation. You won't be disappointed.

I've gone through several sets on several vehicles and they all got plenty of miles and worked great in the mud and snow.

I have seen quite a few people complain that the tread plugs up in snow or mud but I have gone through 2 sets and drivin quite a bit in both snow and mud and havent had a single issue. Im pretty sure that I will be sticking with them later in the year when I go up a size.

I love mine. This is my first winter with these tires. I have no issues with snow or rain. I'll be honest, they've never seen the mud

If they weren't the KOs, I'd be worried, as they would be old.

If you wouldn't mind sharing (PM would be okay) how many miles on them and what did you pay. I'll probably be selling mine in the spring/summer to get 33s.
Mine will have about 20k on them (all 5) by then and I was hoping to get at least $400.

I too like the look of the BFG A/T and there tread life is great form what I hear but I also hear that they are very prone to hydroplaning...anyone have personal experience regarding this?

Not true about the hydroplaning - unless you drive like an idiot in which case you can probably hydroplane with just about any tire. BFG ATs have tons of siping and do very well in wet weather and snowy roads. Now my old style MTRs, which had no siping, hydroplaned very easily.

This is my second winter with my BFG's and as it stands, I would buy another set when these wear. Which by the way has not been to much, I have about 14,000 miles on them, and they are still like new.

I have driven on BFG A/t's only on all my 4+4's and I love them. They wear well, ride quiet, handle all conditions well.

i had a set on mine, they rode good and wore like iron, did excellent in snow, but hard to clean out in mud, so now i got swampers, and they ride like crap, wear like butter but they do really well in the mud, so good in fact it almost takes the fun out of it

Thanks guys! I also took my rims off today and sanded and painted the center area, so now it's not rusty crap but all blacked out. Moved my antenna mount to my bumper too. Love this Jeep, looks so good now! IMO!
