PSA - Sam's / Walmart

Do not order tires from Sam's or Walmart and expect them to mount them. They will only mount stock size tires of similar type.

I ordered 31/10.5/15 Duratracs online, waited for them to get in, took off work to have them mounted and was told that they wouldn't do it.

Manager said I could buy 215/75/15 mounted or take these somewhere else to get them mounted. I told the manager that I usually buy local and I wasn't going to do that to a local shop. If they are going to mount them, they are going to make the money off the tires.

This is not news. For Liability reasons most shops won't mount other than stock sizes.

Best advice is to find a smaller mom and pop shop to mount/balance.

Thats a good thing, I wouldn't want anyone wal-mart hires to change the spark plug in my lawnmower.

I will not allow walmart to touch a single part of any vehicle I own. They over torqued and broke 9 lugs on my old truck. I had a nice little "chat" with the manager and they paid for every lug to be replaced. My dad had tires put on my mom's van and one fell off as she was leaving the parking lot when she went to pick it up.

I ordered tires for my old truck there once. They were bigger all terrain tires. I dropped it off to have them put on and came back......and I swear it looked like they put tires off a Toyota Camry.

^this.

Also, discount tire or an offroad 4x4 shop (if you're fortunate enough to have one or the other nearby)
