quick tire question

for the sahara's 18" rims if i do replace the stock tires (255/70r18) with 275/65r18 will i need to flash the computer to correct the speedometer? they are both pretty much the exact same size in diameter, 32's but with it being wider i wasnt sure about it.

having some problems finding the answer to this question and i am getting ready to order some new tires.

Not as long as the diameter doesn't change.

May not be the answer you want, but

The OBECM (on board electronic control module), couldn't care less what size tire you put on the jeep, could be 40"

The only thing noticeable will be your speedometer indication of speed/mileage/miles traveled

If you stay within the approx same diameter tire--don't worry about it, it's not a rolling laboratory and small errors are OK !

There are superchips/Procals-etc that do things for the jeep, but it's your money and just consider warranties--I don'tusem

Next issue would be that your tires will rub with OEM wheels- do you have new wheels or spacers? Mark W.

no after market wheels or spacers being added at this time. i was told that this size tire would be fine and would not rub. the change in tire size is really not that big of a difference so i doubt there will be a problem with the rubbing. if there is i will look into a fix then, possibly just notching out the plastic shield there would fix it if it does rub. i was really more concerned about the speedo problem.

thanks for the quick answers. i am ordering some tires either today or tomarrow
