Radial slipping its belt

I've always done a cris cross rotation on my jeep tires.. Front right to rear left and front left to rear right And vice versa ..buddy told me the steel belt could detach and slip because the tires are constantly being switched and rode in opposite directions..
Anyone ever hear this happening?

Thanks.., I've always done it that way because the lugs would scalp.. If that's the right terminology. One side of lug would be higher than other side so every time I changed the oil I would use the x pattern.
