Don't get tires for those wheels. Sell them and buy smaller ones with better backspacing.

Tires for that size wheel cost more and weigh more than the same size for a 15x8 wheel and tire. You will save money by selling those 18" wheels and buying new wheels with new tires for a 15" wheel.

I was told that the 15,16" wheels will not fit because the break calipers are too big. Not a fact! I was just told this by the 4wd shop that did my lift. Anyone know the facts? I was looking at the same size tires "BFG AT KOs" only 210$ on amazon no tax free shipping!

false.... Shops go by what's on the screen in front of them.

Some do and some don't. DT has a list of 15's that fit. All 16's fit I believe.

Here is my jeep with 35x12.5x15's
Very close to the caliper.

well the rims i like come in 17,18 & 19. oddly enough the 18's are the cheaper of the lot. I'll be buying tires this week and rims in a few weeks.

I'm not seeing where they make a 275/70/18.
Wrangler DuraTrac Tires | Goodyear Tires
Jumps from a 275/65/18 to a 295/65/18.

You would gain ~.8 of an inch in width and the height would be negligible with a 275-65-18

Most 15 alloys fit just fine. Does that shop know that Jeep JKs come stock with 16" wheels?

Just some info I learned searching the forum and a month long calling and asking questions from tire shops before upgrading my tires on the 18" Sahara wheel...IMO the 275/65/18 is the largest/best size tire to go with on the 18" wheel all stock no lift or spacers...the tires cost considerable more than 16 or 17s and you will not find a M/T tire in a 18" that is less than a 10 ply (Cooper STT was the only one I found in 275/65/18 in a 6 ply load range C, but every tire shop I called could not get it) ...I went with the Nitto Terra Grappler A/T...it really gave my jeep a more aggressive look and they ride good...when I get ready to lift and start adding mods I will go with a 16 or 17" wheel and tires.
