Research: Dunlop Fierce Attitude MT - Goodyear Duratrac

Hey guys, just something I wanted to pass on that may be of interest.

I'm currently researching really hard the Fierce Attitude MT tires, specifically, if it was Goodyear that makes them or Dunlop as I'd read both. I am going with 35's. So far, I can't find one bad thing about these tires so I think that may be the way I'm going.

In the course of my research, I wanted to give the Duratrac a chance as they seem to get great reviews. I know they are referred to as a "35" here on the forum, but truth is, they are not. The biggest they come in for a 17" rim is 315/70/17 and are advertised as 34.4"...after they're mounted, I've seen people say 33.5" to 33.75".

This may not be news to most of you but keeping all that in mind, I emailed Goodyear asking them if they plan to make a Duratrac in an actual 35/12.5/17 size. Here's there reply -

Thank you for contacting our website. Goodyear is constantly looking at market sizes and evaluating the benefits of bringing line extensions to the replacement market..That being said, these sizes do show significant replacement growth starting in 2016 and possible Wrangler DuraTrac line extensions could make sense and will be evaluated. I will forward this to the Marketing Department for consideration in the future.

As for the Fierce Attitude that is a tire that manufactured for Goodyear by Dunlop.

Maybe some of you already know but I thought it was worth passing along.

Please do not turn this thread into a "tire suggestion" thread.

In talking to my local DT rep, he doesn't have a lot of first hand experience with them but has heard they are hard to balance, have a lot of road noise, etc...which seems kind contradictory (doesn't have experience yet seems to know all of their downfalls...???) I've not seen that in any reviews I've found wheter it was on a Jeep, an FJ or a one ton pick up. If anyone has any "first hand user" comments on the Fierce tires, please post them up.

At 35/12.5/17, the tires weigh in at 63 pounds each...which is lite for a 35" tire. My Nitto's weigh in at 71 pounds...for a 295/70/17.

I appreciate your efforts banging on the doors of manufacturer's even though they are feeding you canned answers.
