Rim Sizes, Wheel sizes, etc...

I'm running 33X12.5x15 tires with a 3" lift.

My tires look wider than my rims, so is it possible that my rims are a different size? anyway to check without removing the tire?

I'd like to keep my current rims and maybe go with a thinner tire next round, maybe something a little bigger also than 33.

Any suggestions?

I can post some pics if needed.

You probably have an 8" or 10" rim... either is perfectly fine. You don't want the wheel as wide as the tire.

rims are always narrower than the tire size...or you would blow out the bead easily. I"m running 33x12.5x15 on 15 x 8 rims...Cepek crushers. Gives me plenty of sidewall flex for offroad trail and rock riding at low pressure, and plenty of 'grab' at 30# for highway driving. You probably have 8 or 9" rims on there, which is perfectly fine. Narrowest rims I've heard about are the 8".
