Rims

I have silver Cragar Rims and i wanted to get new ones that are black. My friend the other day said I should just paint the rims i have now instead of buying new ones... Would this work?

You'll have to sand and prime them first, then just use some Rust-oleum spray paint.

I powder coated my rims. I like how they turned out, but I would rather have kept the extra $400 in my pocket. Normal powder coating should be in the $250-$300 range but I had to special order the color i wanted.

If you end up spray painting them, post some pics, i'd like to see how they turn out.

The center cap is spray painted. It was the closest I could match the powder coating with.

I put a few pics so you can see the powder coat in the sun and shade, it has decent reflectiveness. I did not put the clear coat over the powder coat and was recomended not to.

Let me know if you want a uber-close up (sorry, I saw Germany and had to throw that in), I can take some more pics over the weekend.
