rims in a pretty bad shape

i still have stock rims for my '99 sport, i am missing 1 hubcap thing from 1 tire, and one is falling off. the paint is peeling off of all of them. and what i thinnk is brake fluid is misting out onto the front passenger tire. (i literally just cleaned them yesturday and when i ran my finger over it my finger turned black)
i cant afford new rims at the moment (im 16 without a job for now) so my budget it tight.
can i just go over them with some sort of paint. i really want blacked out rims with the holed pattern

also unrelated: i want to get like 33-35, can i use the stock rims on those tires or should i hold out and buy bigger rims with the bigger tires?

thanks i really appreciate all the help i have recieved on this forum throught the amazing journey with my Jeep.
thanks ans God Bless

I think I would sand blast those and then paint black. They look like steel rims to me.

You can also google used auto parts and you can see what salvage yards are selling them for. Condition matters a lot though.

Sand them clean them sand them clean them sand them and clean them. Spray with bedliner and you'll have a nice new set of rims. Spray the hubs black too to match.

You can buy Cragar Soft 8's for $50 each

since your talking about bigger tires in the future.....thats expensive also so Save your pennies and buy one rim at a time,in the long run shipping will be more but If you can only afford one at a time.Thats how life is

Nothing is cheap anymore, especialy Jeep parts.

31's and soft 8's cost me right at $950 and I shopped around for the cheapest.
$760 for tires and $200 for soft 8's

You can paint your current rims, sand them with simple power tools or by hand(the cheapest longest taking way if you have the tools) them prime and paint any color you want.

Do not sandblast any bearings.

Whatever is spraying fluid on your rim needs to be at the top of the to do list.Painted rims wont help you stop the Jeep in any sort of emergency

Hopefully your finger was just black from brake dust and not Fluid

i was 16 once....once I tell ya
Money was tight so my rides remained stock and ugly until I made more money

here are the cragars and they dont come with the center caps unless noted.$52 is bare rim only. They are also heavy so expect shipping to be up there. My shipping on 4 rims was $75

Remove rim and there will be a screw or two on the inside of the rim
