Road/Sand tire?

I'm having trouble finding a tire made in a size I want. I prefer a rim size of 15 or 16, a diameter of 30-31 (actual), and a width of around 11-13.

I do not want a mud tire. I'm looking for a street tire. The only offroading this jeep will do is sand.

The only tires I've found so far are drag tires, and that tread really isn't made to last.

Any ideas? Maybe someone from the hotrod world?

Maybe the Cooker Silvertown in 285/70-15? Might look pretty good on a beach jeep, huh?

BFG A/T's are totally awesome in sand! Go with the smallest wheel possible to maximize the sidewall height. Unless you wanna go total paddles...

I am happy with Hankook Dynapro ATM in sand. It has strong treads and good traction, and can run at least at 7.5 psi no problem. The sidewalls are a bit weak though. I may try Goodyear silent armor next, as I hear they have durable treads and stronger sidewalls. Bfg ta/Ko has some reports of chunking which is a problem in our desert, as the sand is sometimes mixed with sharp stones and gravel.

Thanks, great options!

I am now looking at Hoosier pro-street in 31/12.50-15. Very streetable, and plenty wide for floatation.

Interesting choice, this type of set up is very popular with "tataees" Wrangler drivers in Saudi, especially some years ago. I am more a cross country driver which is why durability plus sand traction are both equal for me. Your set up should be great in soft sand, just avoid large areas of sharp gravel or sharp rocky patches if you have them in your area. Another reason to take the dunes.
