So Annoyed!

Well I just talked to the mechanics at sears and asked if they could stud Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs 31x10.5x15s. They said they were too big to be studded, but on tire rack or some other website they said these tires COULD be studded. Sears said that the biggest tires they could stud are 235 75R15...I was REEALLY looking forward to getting 31's, but I guess I'm going to have to settle for 30's...I guess they only have Firestone winterforce and some other crap tire

Check some other places for adding studs. That's just stupid. Why make a 33" tire with the ability to add studs, only to have the tire monkeys say they can't do it????

If you stud them, do you take the studs out in the spring or change tires? Aren't duratrac's supposed to be great winter tires without the studs installed?

I would definitely check with a tire shop. Don't see why you couldn't though not sure why you would stud them. But I'm a west coaster.

The reason I want to stud them is because I drive over the Appalachian Gap (In Vermont) every day which is famous for being covered in black ice and almost never being plowed when I actually have to drive on it.

If you order them from any of the online tire places, studding is an option...

If the places online can stud 31's, why can't sears!?
