Spacers? Can't find rims with the proper backspacing

Evening everyone,

I want to run some 17 inch rims on my 2004 TJ, what I am finding is the more modern styled alloy rims have a 4.5 to 4.75 inch back spacing.

Am I missing a bunch of suppliers? Or do most people run spacers.

If most of you are running spacers is there anything special I need to know.
