Spacers needed?

Do I need spacers to fit slightly wider 275/70/17s on stock JK 17 in wheels w/no lift? Stock tires are 255/75/17.

Anyone? Search didn't shed any light on my particular question.

Probably not, but it will depend on the tread pattern and tread to sidewall angle

So, I'm not sure who even makes the 275/70x17 tires, but you should be fairly safe, even though your paying for tires that are almost the same size as your stockers!!!!!

Seems like a waste of money --

They'll rub on the rear anti-swaybar links and sometimes they hit the airdam up front. On a few Jeeps I've seen them graze the brake lines.

Bust off the airdam, and invert the links and they'll fit. Cut the wheel hard, get out the Jeep and check out the brake lines. If the tire touches just relocate them. No big deal.

Cool. Sounds easy enough. The old tires have some wear so it's time for them to go.
