Spare tire Question

I just bought a factory wheel 15"x8" for my spare. It had a smaller spare on it prviously. The tire is a 33 x 10.5 x 15. I had to remove the third brake light and the 5 rubber tire stops off the tail gate. The spare is still rubbing against my tailgate and the bumper on the bottom. I just barely got it on the spare bracket. The tailgate handle will barely open with some shaking of the spare tire itself to help the handle open enought to release the latch. My question is....is there some sort of spacer or bracket to mount in between the spare tire bracket and the rim itself. I'd like a little more clearance in the back and be able to reinstall the rubber tire stops. Any suggestions/advice?

Quadratec and 4wd.com carry a larger spare tire carrier that replaces the stock carrier. they are about $60

Thanks guys. I gotta do something cuz the tire is not going to let the hardtop I just ordered fit properly and my tailgate latch won't open all the way without pulling on the spare.
