Tire & Rim advice

Just picked up my first jeep last night 2014 sport S. traded in my infiniti truck for it.

I loved the look of it with the stock black jeep rims but didn't buy them because for $1700 i can get something i like better.

my question is and i have been searching.

what rim / tire size to get. I have no intention to put a lift kit on the truck. I also have little to no intention for offroad maybe just some beach stuff. But do what the option. I just like the look.

The rim ATM that has my interest are the KMC XD Rockstar II. Do i get them in 17 or 18?

Also what size tire to get? The 32" that comes with the standard JEEP rim seemed like a good size but what do i know. And any recommendation on a good all around tire for mainly street driving, with offroad capability.

Thanks for any advise.

Personally I would run a 17" for two reasons. In most cases the tires are less money per tire and usually around the 18", the tires are a heavier load range like load range E. Which means a heavier, often times more stuff tire and can decrease gas mileage and power.

If you are staying with more of a street tire then the load range of the tire may not be an issue. Double check before you but them.

You may also find a larger selection for tires with a 17"

If you are not planning to lift it or go off road much then I would stay with right around the same tire size maybe a size bigger.

This is just my personal preference.

ok so after reading more i think im starting to understand some of the numbers and reasoning behind them. (tire/rim)

from what i think i am understanding i should be able to fit this ?

rockstar II (backstace of 4.5)
Goodyear duratrac size 285/70/17

that combo should fit on stock car...

if i am figuring this out right will that combo work for me with no interferences?

^perfect fit on stock suspension. I have fuel offroad 17" mavericks w/4.5 backspacing. 285/70/17 toyo at2 and no rubbing whatsoever. Full lock and no trimming of any components. I even wheeled it a couple times with that setup prior to my lift.
