Tire and wheel choice

I have decided on the Goodyear Duratracs in 265/75/16 or 285/75/16 (if they will fit). I am still torn between the V-Tec Raptor and the Pro Comp 7089. I know I need to keep the back spacing at 4.5 and under and that makes my offset 0 to negative numbers. Any comments would be welcomed!!

Of the two, I prefer the 7089s personally. But wheel decision is very personal. You should go with what you feel in your gut and forget what the rest of us clowns think.

Here is a pic of a JKU on 16" 7089s and 315s

24 hours later, you're asking about 285/16's and 33x12.5/15's. What gives, yo?

Don't get 265, get the 285s. That is all.

Unhappy

Well I guess I am trying to get the best setup I can at the beginning so I do not have to change so soon.

I am also looking into getting an aftermarket 16x8 or 8.5 wheels with 4.5 BS and 285 75/16 tires. Will this setup rub on/off road on 11JK with no lift? Thanks!

You might get some fender rubbing off-road, especially if you disco your sway bars.

Check out this thread: Largest tire on stock JK? Here's your answer!

You might consider a 3.5 backspace instead, much less prone to rubbing.

On road no.. Off road yes especially if you disconect the sway bar.

Can you suggest a brand of black wheels with 3.5 BS that won't rub? And how far would that stick out of the fenders? Thanks!

American eagle makes these in 15x8, 3.5 bs, we just put on a 2012 Rubi, looked and worked great, and they're about $115 ea.

Would these work on 11JK sport without ant lift?

Wheels don't affect lift so Yes they would work.. On a stock JK the max size tire you can run with a proper back spaced wheel is 33x12.5's or a very close metric equivalant if you would be running a 16-17in rim

Yes they would, with the back spacing they have, 3.5, and not having a lift, they would hang out a little more than I like, but look good. When they're lifted, it makes that back spacing look more proportionate

Ok, I think I made a decision on NOT lifting my DD and would like to stay stock 255 75 17. What would be the max (smallest) BS aftermarket wheels that I can get without rubbing at all? I understand that the stock 17" alloys have 6.25 BS. thx in advance!
