Tire/Rim combo. What do ya all think?

What do guys think of Nitto terra grapplers on the moto metal 959 rims?? 295x70x18 tires on 18x9 black rims. Going on a 2011 JKUnlimited, mango tango, with a 3 inch lift. Going to paint the inserts on the rims mango tango. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Ok that's cool, but expect droning sounds from the nitto terra grappler tires. Some people can live with it some cant. Even the trail grapplers are more quieter.

Trail grapplers are quieter? I might have to check em out. Maybe go with the 35x12.5x18s. I wonder how many miles they're good for. Oh, and what's a droning noise? Thanks

The droning noise is the "hum". My friend has em and it sucks on long trips...simple fix is to turn up the radio. Check out the duratracs, toyo at2, hankook dynapro's to name a few. The toyos are the quietest of the bunch. I have a soft top and when I switched tires to toyo at2, no difference in sound and minimal power loss. Even the e rated versions are quiet.

however.... since your going 18's and 35's you'll have to do your own research as there are a select few that run those combo's. compare the weight of the tires. 10lbs is equivelant to 100lbs in excess load. stay light!

Would 17s with 35s be a better choice?

yes...cheaper than the 18's and have a ton of upgrade options. 33-40'tires
15's cheap but no bigger than 35's
16's limited selection of tires
17's more expensive of the two (wheels/ and tires) but you can still manage to stay light.
18's - expensive/heavy
20's - mall crawl

Ok. Those rims only come in 18". Are there any 17" rims that have inserts that can be painted, that you know of?
