Tire Size Question

Two Questions:

I'm currently running stock 30 x 9.5 x 15's on my '98 Sahara,

1. would it be possible to put BFG LT235/75R-15/C1's on it? I may be able to pick these up used from a neighbor. They are on their rims, as he put 35" on his jeep.

2. The local tire place said they could do 31" tires a lot cheaper than the 30.5s. Will there be some rubbing issues doing that on a stock setup?

Thanks for the help.

You should be fine with the 31's even 32's with maybe some rubbing at full flex.

Your neighbor's tires are just slightly smaller than yours (30's vs 28.8's).

If you want, you can do the 31's. 32's are too large for a stock TJ with no lift.

Thanks for the heads up! I have been catching some serious DW that has to be related to the bad condition of the tires, when I took them to get balanced I was told they couldn't balance a square....

I was told I'd be in the $600 ball park for BFG 30x9.5x15s, lower $500s for 31"s, and my neighbor's smaller BFG's with 5k miles on them for $300, and with money being really tight my neighbor's tires look to be a good option if they will work.

Any worries about later model TJ's having different hub configurations that would cause any issues?

Thanks again!
