Tire size question for mineral grey wheels

Hello All,
I am posting for the first time after a very longtime lurking on the board.
I searched the threads and didn't find an answer. So my question is...I just picked up the mineral grey wheels that come on the mountain / black ops edition jk's. I have a 2009 jk unlimited rhd with stock 16" wheels. I want to put a larger tire on these new grey wheels. What is the largest tire I can safely put on these wheels? That being said....if it requires spacers or lift....what would I need there? I am on a budget as many are. Thank you for any help and advice.

Welcome!

Good score on the Mineral Gray Moab wheels. I really like them.

The stock tire that came on that wheel was the 255/75R17 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM, which is bigger than your 16s and do not require any further modifications to your Jeep.

However, if you wanted, you could go even larger, but the backspacing of the stock wheels poses some problems which you may or may not wish to deal with. Many users run a 33" (285/70R17) tire on the stock wheels with spacers and have no driveability issues, except when the suspension is fully flexed in off-road situations.
