Depends on what size lift you get. I would lift it first and then go from there. Personally I like a three inch with 32" tires for maximum flex with out worrying about damage.

Ok do you think the stock gears will be fine with 33 or 32 as I do drive it on the highway regularly ? Thinking of ether a 2 1/2 inch lift or 3 .. Just worried about loosing power ?

I went with a 4in with 35s. Looks great but its a 97 tj. Not sure if they are different but like hansen said, lift it and go from there. I knew what I wanted cause my sisters bf has the same setup and I liked it. What size engine are in them?

There are 5 different options that came from the factory depending on your engine and transmission. Check out the metal tag on one of your diffs when you get a chance.

With the 6 speed and 33s I do fine. No problems what so ever on the highway. Or any other road. Edit I have 3.07s

When I had 3.73s I was hating it with my 5 speed and 33s. I live in a mountainous area and couldn't use 5th. So it may be liveable for you it may not be.

I do not use 6 that much only above 75. My 33 and stock 307 will be fine for me till I have money to regear. I do wheel and I'm fine in low for every thing IV done. I have a 06 6 speed straight 6. I would get the 33s till you can regear. And deal with the stock gears. Its not that bad with the 6 speed.

same here with 6sp manual and 33s....engage 6sp overdrive above 65mph is manageable although extremely marginal.

So it doesn't loose much power running the 33s
