Tires are scrubbing after replacement-help

Bought my son new tires for his 1998 Wrangler Sport. Took off 235 75 15 and put on 31x10.50's...Now when he locks wheel left or right, tires scrub against frame.
So what do I need to do next? Spacers, lift?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Are they stock wheels or aftermarket? Either way if they don't have the proper back spacing for the wheel it will rub so the easiest solution would be spacers. Probably 1.5"

Stock wheels. I've researched and found 3/8 washer behind steering stop could work. Am trying today. Thanks.

This is what you need to do. Just put as many washers behind the stop as you need to prevent the rub. Happy Jeepin'!
