Tires/Lift? for a 2007 Unlimited Sahara

I have a black 2007 unlimited sahara 4 door, its still stock. I really want new tires and a lift but I just don't have the money for both right now. I was wondering if I should just go ahead and get 31" all terrains? Preferably BFGs.

I have often read on this forum (from ppl with more experience than me) that you can go up to 33" without any lift as long as you aren't doing any rough off roading.

^ this is true. I would NEVER recommend that you get 31" tires. Your Sahara's stock tires are 32"! Definitely step up to a 33" tire. If you are wanting to get tires for your stock wheels, be prepared to pay through the nose for them. See what I just wrote in this thread.

the tires on the jeep now are 30" so I think I'm going to go up to 32" for now

30" tires on a Sahara? That doesn't sound right. They may actually measure out to 30" now, but if they are stock tires, they should spec out to 32x10.
I would still recommend taller, but that's just me. Lol. If you are just wanting to go 32", I'd try to find some Rubicon take off wheels and tires.

I have a 2007 sahara 2 door with 33 inch BFG ATs and 16 inch Pro Comp 6089 rims with no lift. I've done some pretty serious off roaring with no problems, the only rubbing is full cut in reverse. If I was going to do it again, I would go straight for the 3 inch lift and 35's. Now I have to wait.
