Two totally different tires. Apples to oranges. Both are marketed as "AT" tires..but the Duratrac is almost a MT and the Falken is almost a HT. Offroad traction, especially in wet conditions or mud, is night and day between the two. On the highway the manners and noise levels are also night and day. I think you need to narrow down what you intend to drive on with these tires and then decide.

I have not been to Texas, but the ranches are pretty big wide open places aren't they? A stronger sidewall might be a good thing. Having to change a spare out there would suck. And for your highway driving the Falken would be a better choice on top of the stronger sidewalls it has. Just my opinion but I think the Falken would be better for you. I wasn't a big fan of them, but the terrain in KY is very different than TX.

I'm running
Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor
P255/70R-18 112T OWL

I'm down here in Texas. They work very good on the trails and mud. I run them out on the ranch (275 acres). They are reinforced with Kevlar. The are quiet on the highway and are great off road unless your doing rock crawling. I have ran over a LOT of mesquite and no punctures. San Saba is only a couple hours from me so I'm sure you have a lot of mesquite as well and have had punctures from mesquite thorns before. These tires offer excellent puncture resistance and some very tuff side walls. They are a bit pricy, but they have been worth every penny! Also they performed excellent on the ice with no problems. There were times where I was so confident that I forgot I was on ice.
Also some people claim they don't do well in the mud. I've never been stuck yet. Also, This tire bears the Severe Service Emblem. They also have excellent traction in the rain. But, like I said, they are a bit pricy but they have won me over as my tire of choice for my jeep, explorer and f-350.

I've been running Falken WildPeaks for almost a year now. Love 'em! Best tire I've owned on my Jeep so far and planning on getting an identical set for my truck.

Mostly I run on the highway as it's a daily driver. No heavy off roading, only light trail riding or offroading to get somewhere like deer hunting or some fishing hole.
Great in the rain so far.
