Cool To Paint Mag wheels or not?

Well I've been reading all over this forum and havent found anybody that has painted there old and wore out mag wheels. I have been playing with this idea for week or two but was wondering has anybody else done this and what kind of results you guys have had? Was it worth it or is polishing the best option.

I have seen a couple posts where people have painted there mag wheels. The ones i have seen turned out very nice. Can't tell you if thats right for you though ... i don't know what kind of mags you have, or what kind of shape they are in .... If they are not bad and just need a good polishing then thats what i would do. But then i am old school. I like the looks of a nice polished aluminum wheel. Although some painted ones look damn nice too.

Google is your friend. And more then likely you are talking about aluminum or Alloy wheels. Mags are made from magnesium and require different prep/paint methods.
The second link is to a honda forum but the guy did a great job on his wheels so if you don't like it.
