Trail worthy fab review

Guys, I was hesitant about ordering wheels because I like to know who I'm working with. I've read all over the internet trying to find info about these guys, with very little luck, so I figured I would just make a log so future customers can know what to expect based on my experience with them. So for the first one, I called today 1/31/12 at 12:25 eastern time and I got his answering machine. I left my number saying that I wanted to place an order.

Andy called me back about 3:20 today. Really nice guy, we talked about running the pvc insert. He told me he's rather not sell me the wheels at all, than to sell without the insert for safety. I ordered 5x4.5 pressed wheel centers 3.5" backspacing without any powder coating and the pvc inserts. He said it would be 3-4 weeks before they ship.

Subscribed. I have a buddy that is thinking about ordering wheels from that site. I have heard nothing but good about them so far.

The quality on these is awesome. Banks316 on here is running them. The military take off tires grab amazingly well for being as heavy load rated as they are.

I will be ordering a set for my JK if I can sell my current set up. Though I'm kind of thinking about going with one of the 5x5 to 8x6.5 adapters so if I ever upgrade my axles to 1 tons they will fit with just the addition of spacers.

I forgot to add that the total with shipping was 939.80 for them. I already got 10 37s cheaper than he was selling 4 for.

Got the tires mounted and put on the jeep. They ride way better than I ever expected. My locker is so much nicer to ride with and these tires are way quieter than my 33s. Took then on the highway pretty smooth until I hit 60-65. They shake so hard you have to slow down. I'm going un-mount and remount then tomorrow to see if that helps.

Well I hunted for 5 days so far to find someone who would balance these. Firestone tried buy their machine wouldn't turn it fast enough. A truck stop guy came out and kicked the tires and told me 400 to balance them. And everyone else turned me away. I used the airsoft bbs and they did an amazing job but I have a wobble still on two tires. I have to keep it below 70 or it shakes me to death. I guess I may have to end up dumping a bunch of money to get these right. Btw I got 4 almost new tires. They are all straight with no alignment problems.

Hey Kenny-

What two tires are wobbling? I'm sure we can get you going straight down the road.

How many BBs did you use per tire?

Hey andy! All I can say is great job! They are way better than I ever expected. My left front and left rear seemed to wobble and gave alot of shaking running down the highway. So far I have about 3000 bbs ( .12 gram) per tire. I figured that's about 12.69 oz. last night I busted the left rear down again and used some bushings on the bolts to center the front piece. That helped alot but I still have about an 1/8th inch lateral runout. I think I'm going to just try to replace the front left tire today.

How did this end up working out?
I'm really interested in these wheels.
I wrote them an email yesterday about how to get these balanced. I haven't received a reply yet, but not being able to balance them might be a deal breaker. I still want to be able to drive my jeep on the highway.
