I would suggest a google search on plasti dip. There are lots of youtube videos on painting your wheels with plasti dip. It seems cheap enough and you can remove it later if you decide you don't like it. I've considered doing my stock rubicon wheels in a dark gray so I've done some research on this. Looks like it holds up pretty well and the kits to paint your wheels are about $25. It remains to be seen if I'll do it as I'm not sure how it will hold up to rock rash.
Plasti-dip is awesome. I used it on my wheels and on the grill. It holds up pretty well, and you can always redo it if you get it rashed up. I'd definitely recommend doing it, and if you like the look, you can later go for a more permanent solution.
Advice- the more coats you do, the better it will come out.
