What do you think?

I finally made my mind (at least I hope so) about the wheels I will put on my TJ.
I decided for a 2'' lift kit (maybe a Skyjacker with spacers and hydro shocks) with 31's. I have to choose between Super Swamper TSL Radial and BFG MT KM2. Both of them 31x10.5R15. Will they be OK with 8'' rims (aren't the rims too large for these tires)?
What backspacing do I need in order not to rub when steering?
Which tire is better (the car will see trails and mud, but to go there I will need to travel few hundreds of km, sometimes)?
What about US wheels Daytona series 84 rims? Do you have any ideea about them?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hey Popa,
8" wheels can hold 12.5" tires with no problem. If you want to run the 10.5" tires you should have less than 4" of back spacing to avoid rubbing the steering components. As for tires, I'd stick with the BFG's but go for an all terrain if you're going to be on the highway for that type of distance. The mud terrain tires will be noiser, handle worse on dry or slick roads, and will wear faster. Sorry, I don't know anything about the rims your asking about. Good luck with your Jeep (don't call it a car, some people here will get angry with you).

Thanks (especially for the "car" thing)
The rims that I found have a 4'' backspacing (they say).
On my former Jeep (it was a YJ) I had MT-s from Bridgestone and I was satisfied with them, with all the noise and poor road handling (actually, it was not so poor, except on ice and packed snow). The ideea is that the trails where we usually go are very rough and the AT's would do nothing. Even the old BFG MT's are not extremely efficient. I hope that the new BFG's KM2 will perform better.

Question Help needed with rims/tyre combo

Well, I'm back with my issue, concerning the rims (since the offer for Jeep rims is very poor in my country, I have some problems in finding rims with a small backspace and the proper width).
So I come with two questions:
- some people here (in Romania) says that 8'' is too wide for 31x10.5 and there is the risk, when aired down and wheeling, to get them unseated. What does your experience say?
What about backspacing? I have seen here a lot of opinions about that. The only 15x7 steel rims that are available (besides that, they are for a very good price) at this moment on our market, have a backspace of 4,5". Will the BFG KM2 31x10,5R15 fited on these wheels (R15J7 with 4.5" backspace - I measured it) rub on the stock TJ at full turn (and when wheeling)?
When I will lift it (I plan a 2" RE BB), will they rub (at full turn - I know that once lifted, there will be no rub on the fenders)?

Have you looked at the super swamper SSR? Thats what I want and the 31s are 31.6" tall and they have good reviews. Also shipping is way cheaper at summit racing for these.

Yes, I thougt of them, but they are too expensive for me (they sell here for ~ 270-300$, while the BFG KM2 are ~ 200$ each). So, aboyut the tyres I am pretty sure of what I will buy, it rests the question about rims. There I have heard so many opinions so I don't know what to do.
Any advice/opinion will be appreciated.
