what is the wides tire i can run stock

here goes op jk x 6 speed 321 rear. as you can see i need to re work the gearing if i want to go to bigger tires. i dont really want to mess with it. so i was thinking a wider tire will give me more of a footprint as well. so how wide can we run on stick 16x7 steelies. or say the 16x8 craigers i have seen for 60 a piece. they come in 4.25 and 5 backspacing. any help would be gladly taken.
