What On-Board Air Do You Use?

Okay everyone, I've done a couple searchs and found some threads on onboard air. I have also done some research online. What I want to know is what everyone has, the price they paid, and how long you've had it.

I found a comparison chart online for some portable systems, and for the money, some of them seem pretty awesome. Anybody have one of them and like it?

Tire Inflator Comparison

Theres the comparison chart. It seems to think that the Superflow mv50 are very very similar, and except for huge price gap. Anybody have that model?

Also, is there any benefits/drawbacks to having a portable one vs. a mounted one?

Thanks for you input and help.

I've got the MV-50. Amazon had a one-day sale a few weeks back, and somebody posted about it in the JK section. A bunch of us jumped on it.

I was gonna order a VIAIR OBA system, but couldn't pass up the $49.99 for the MV-50. Works great. Takes some time to air up 4 35" tires, but it does the job...plus it's small and portable and fairly lightweight.

Yea, thats the one i was thinking about getting... Even at the 79$ price it is now, still seems worth it. How long have you had it? And whats the time on 35s? From what psi to what psi? i was hoping it wouldnt take more than 20 mins to do all 4?

Lol...Didn't you read the link you downloaded in your first post? All sorts of comparison info in there regarding air times, how much pressure each brand will generate, how hot they get, etc.

That article was what helped me make the decision in the first place.

Takes about 15 mins to air up (4) 35's.

Even @ $79, I don't think you could beat it. I say buy one.

The price is definitely more affordable for the MV50, but keep in mind it does use inferior components when compared to a VIAIR unit. When something is cheaper like that, something, it has to use cheaper materials. A lot of people compare to the VIAIR, and although it look similar, it is very different.

The piston seal is not made of quality material like teflon, the bearing are cheaper, and the valve inside is not stainless steel. So, over time, it will not hold up to its performance.

Sorry for the rant.... you can always find threads where people are disappointed with that compressor. On the other hand, we do offer an economy OBA system for $299 if you wanted to go that route and have the option for air tools and air locker activation if you have them.
