What PSI on 33" on and off road

I have BFG AT 285 / 75 / 16

When I took them home from the tire shop, they were at 38 psi. I took them down to about 32. Just wondering what others are running at?

Max on the tire says 65 PSI which I don't exactly understand how that helps...

When I went wheeling, I took them down to about 15 psi.

While I have 31s and not 33s, we run 32 psi all around.

33x10.5 I run about 28-30 psi on road. 12psi off.

^^^This. 33's should be run at about 30 psi. Don't go by your door placard, and don't trust a tire shop to properly inflate your tires. They routinely overinflate – usually by a ridiculous amount – 4x4 tires.

To find out the optimum road PSI for your tires, do a chalk test. Best way to make sure your tires wear evenly and are properly inflated.

I took them down to 30 psi. Seems to drive smoother now too! I'll have to borrow some sidewalk chalk from my 3 year old.

Only problem now is the TPMS light is on now. Does it go on when you hit 30 psi?

I run mine at 30 on the road and 12 offroad.

29psi on road and 12psi off road is what I use.

Worthless IMO. Especially if you're airing down and back up at the trail head. Air is ~70% Nitrogen anyways. I can fill up with my portable air compressor for free.

The TPMS light is another hazard of running aftermarket tires, which take less PSI than the stockers.

Best bet is to buy an AEV Procal...not only will it re-calibrate your speedometer (which is now off cuz of your larger tire size), it will let you adjust the TPMS sensors to whatever PSI you want, or disable them entirely.

I use around 78% nitrogen. The rest is just air...
