Wheel Spacing

Why do all TeraFlex kits require wheel spacers? I understand the whole concept behind it and everything but it seems like only their kits require them. Has anyone done one of these lifts with stock tires and not needed wheel spacers? I just don't like the idea of them, i feel like they are unsafe and a band aid fix. As well as the fact that they are 250+ dollars. Let me know your feelings!

Nick, I have a teraflex lift on my JK and I don't run spacers. You may need spacers to run larger tires on a stock wheel but if you buy new wheels you can correct the spacing with an offset wheel. I run 305x70x17 tires on procomp 17x9 wheels with 4.75 backspacing. Not sure why a stock wheel and tire would need a spacer with the lift other than making the vehicle more stable.

I talked to Teraflex and they claim that the new rear sway bars in the kit will rub on the tire/wheel if you don't have spacers. I'm honestly thinking about just not upgrading the rear sway bars and running the other components until i decide to get new wheels/tires, as the guy i talked to said it shouldn't be an issue.
