which goodyears

ok i work for a maintenance shop, and our parts guy can get me the goodyear wrangler silent armors at cost, but he says he can also get the goodyear dura tracs for about the same price ($2 difference), but there is only 2 in his suppliers warehouse. he says there is no way of knowing when they will get more in, so my question is do i go with the silent armors? or wait an unknown amount of time for the duratracs? im looking to hear from people that have used one or both of those tires, and can tell me the pros and cons.

idk how much longer i can look at my jeep with its puny tires, i cant wait for some 31s

Oh, its an 05 sport, white

Well how much off roading do you plan on doing? In my opinion, if you can get a good deal on the MTRs with Kevlar jump on it! They are amazing!! I have a set of 35x12.5s on my daily and do a ton of driving. I dont think many other tires would have handled anywhere as close as these did the past month with the crazy snow and ice we have had here in CT. Plus they are quiet, handle great, and just look mean as hell. Now I can wait for mud season and to hit up some trails come spring!

But if you can only pick from the two you listed def go with the dura tracs. I have heard nothing but good reviews, look much more like an off road tire, ect

Armors are not near as good In mud or snow. But a better wearing tire, better suited to highway then the byway. Just depend what your needs are. I have both on pickups and the duratracs hook up a lot better. Was plowing 4 inches of snow in 2 wheel drive and you would never do that with Armors. I think if I ever change tires on my jk sahara it will probably be duratracs. I would chose them over the rubi tire.

Sorry for hi-jacking in advance.
How does this rebate work? Would I be able to use it even though I am ordering my tires through a tire rack wholesale account? Thanks for any help.

Yes the rebate works no matter where you buy your tires. Just join, they give you a control # and you print out the form, fill it out, send it in with a copy of the receipt and a few weeks later you get a check in the mail. It can be used with the GY rebate as well...

Edit: Just now saw the word wholesale in your post. I'd still try if it were me, or at least look at the form on the site and see if it mentions "retail" only.....

FYI my goodyear wrangler silent armors on my 3" lifted YJ did great in the 16" of snow we had in my neck of the woods. The only problem I had once was getting high ended when going thru a 5 foot snow plow pile. Somebody just helped push me thru the rest of the way. Good to go. Tires grabbed just fine in snow and Ice as long as i kept the tires on a solid surface. My Jeep is so much lighter than my tank 1998 Bronco.

Hey man, me from the CT also, I have the MT/rs 31's they are awesome In the snow. If I had one complaint, these tires are noisy as hell, I did not expect with a 31" tire, and I here they get loader with age. O'well it's a jeep so I'll deal with it : )

I had a hard time deciding whether to go 32 or 33 Duratracs. In the end I went with 32's (or 265's). I am glad I did as the fit good without any lift. And that is a reflection of my dog in the door - not a decal!

Hey those wheels look great what size are they? I am looking for a 32 size for my JK as well. Don't want to lift it and 32s should be the perfect size for the look and performance I'm looking for.
