Which lift and tires for my 01 Sport?

My 01 sport is stock now. 4.0L auto with dana 35 rear/ 30 front axles. No clue on the gearing I can't decipher the tag.... Have 31x10.5 on Canyon rims. I want as small a lift as I can do to run 33x12.5's. I drive this Jeep daily and it needs road manners. But it will go offroad occasionally as well as see snow and ice/packed snow covered roads. Don't have much $, as hubby wants a new gun....

I don't want to have to re gear, or do much/any changes to anything else. Is this even possible? I have read that lots of folks do a 2-2.5" lift and with possibly a 1" body lift to run 33's. I just want a great looking Jeep, that is fun to drive! I already have that, but I want it to be a bit more intimidating looking! (I know, I'm a silly girl... )

Also will probably put Soft 8's on, I suppose 15x10's since that's what hubby wants. What backspacing do I need for those? Other wise I guess 15x8's with 4" b.s. is recommended?

Sorry for so many ??'s but there is so much info available here, and so many choices, that my brain kinda gets mushy after a while. I'm old and easily confused...

Thanks for your help!

Stick with the 15x8 in wheels. They hold the bead better when aired down for the trail. The backspacing you would need to avoid rubbing is less than 4" (3.5 being preferable). The combination of the 2-2.5"BB and a 1"BL will work just fine for fitting 33s. Also for 33s you don't have to worry about re gearing. That would only happen if you wanted 35's or bigger, which isn't recommended for the Dana 30 and 35 set up.

Ready............................................. ............................................GO!

To run 33x12.5x15s you'll either want a 4" Suspension lift or if the budget is tight a 2" BB and a 1" BL. I believe 3.75 is the recommended back spacing for this set up. Stick with the 15x8 wheels if you're going with 33's.

I discovered on my 04 Sport, that I have 3.07 gears so I am only going to run 31's when I can afford my lift.

I could not either until my Mechanic showed me. Scrape off the tag and look close. it will have either an 07 or 73, it will be at the end of the first series of numbers. But unless you plan on re-gearing, I would not go bigger than 31's or 32's and that is just my opinion.

Well so do I and mine is my daily driver and I also want it to be well rounded. So I am thinking of getting the OME 2" spring lift with 31's. It will still be a nice combo and have better off road capabilities.

Wow! Talked to the guys that would install my lift today. They highly recommended a 3-4" BDS lift for me to run 33's. Guess I'm gonna have to run stock for a while.... 1200 for the kit installed is more than I have to spend at the moment. Still considering doing a 2" BB + 1" BL... Gotta look into it some more...

Some will disagree with me, but I personally would save the money and do it right the first time. I am not a big fan of spacer lifts, and think you are better off with a spring lift. The lift I chose with shipping is $800 plus he wants $700 for install which seems rather high in my opinion, but he is the expert not me. And that does not include tires, which I am guessing would be another $600 plus. I have all I can do to make the payments and put gas in her. So guess who else will be driving stock for awhile?
Also keep in mind and this is just my opinion, I think 33's will be a little much with 3.07 gears. You may notice a loss of power in 5th unless you are ok with that. And any higher than 2" you might be looking at other mods you will have to do to your jeep to avoid the infamous death wobble among other things.

I'm currently running a 2in coil lift from Rusty's off road, with 32's on Eagle Alloy series 187 wheels with 3.25in backspacing. I've had the lift on for over a year now and I love it. The lift runs about 310$ on rustysoffroad.com and it comes with shocks and longer coils. I know you want 33's but I think 32's would do great on your rig.

Thanks Andrew, I'll do that. I talked to Drivelines plus, those idiots at the place on Morgan and Burkhart will never see a dime of my $. If that's who the other place you mentioned was. I'm afraid it will be some time before I am able to lifter her though, hubby wants a new gun..... His priorities are soooo screwed up!
