Which tires up front??

I have two wrangler mtr's about 50% tread and just bought 2 bfg all terrains used with about 60% tread for only $60. My question is which set do you guys think I should run up front and which in the rear?

Also since you are already here reading this. Could you give me recommended tire presures for each set of tire for a 92 yj for the desert here in AZ and for the street.

Thanks in advance.

outside of pro mudbog trucks or the occasional trail only vehicles I've never heard of running two different pairs of tires on a 4x4.. If you have to the mtr's on the rear and bfg ta ko's on the front.. but IMO I wouldn't want to be doing that to long..

Ok im a college student and couldn't afford new mtr's and have been looking forever for a used set that has more similar tread design and finally had to just settle for these. Its basically just a patch for now. But what reasons do you say for not too long?

Okay, yeah same size, and same tread depth. Just different tires. Yeah its a little ghetto but will have to do the job for now.

You'll have very uneven wear, your gas mileage will suffer, and it's possible it could affect handling or stability, especially in bad weather.

However, I haven't always had a bunch of money in my life, so in many circumstances I've had to get used tires or mismatched tires just to tide me over for a while. It won't do any permanent damage to the vehicle and as long as you're extra careful in bad weather you should be fine.

If at all possible, make sure you have the same model tires on each axle. Don't mismatch different size tires, and keep an eye out for excessive wear.
