Wrangler DuraTrac's

I am very excited. Going to be putting on new Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs this weekend, 285/70/R17's. Got a set of four Spidertracks 1.5" wheel spacers and the Teraflex leveling kit is on the way!!!!
Baby steps!! I am really looking forward to these tires, they will look so much meaner than those Wrangler SRA's that came with it. Why do they do that?

On a red Jeep, in. IMO the only time white letters go out is on a white Jeep.

On Discount Tires Direct they are listed in that size as LT285/75/R16
Load Rating????

The lt means light truck but the load rating is after the 16. So the tires on there are either rated D or E

I got the duratracs I spent a lot of time looking for tires before the lift with the load d rating it isn't a bad ride at all over the stock ride and it's the lightest most aggressive tire you can get for a good price I have been recommending those and the mtrs to everyone I know

No lift yet. I got the tires from a local place around here because they were cheap but if not I would have gone with discount tire direct. can't wait to put the lift on.

I like the lettering out as well. I went black this time because the BFG all terrains I had on my last Jeep were white out. I was thinking about painting my wheels black but now I'm not. I might go back and get the white out, I'm such a geek!

Jervboy,

Did you/do you have any rubbing without spacers?

What gearing/trans do you have, and have you noticed any negative affects of the increased size/weight?

Looks really good, but I'm concerned about rubbing and weight since I don't want to add new wheels/spacers and I have 3.21 gears.

Thanks.

Stock gearing, 4.1 I think? I know I sound like an idiot not really knowing what gearing I have but I don't. It is a 2011 JKU Sport S six speed manual.. I needed spacers, I did have some rubbing. 1.5" Spidertrax wheel spacers, really glad I got them, I like the stance much better. I think I have noticed a slight change in gas milage for the worst but I am only on my first full tank of gas si I need to fill 'er up a couple more times to be sure. I think I may have noticed a slight bit of sluggishness going up hill on the highway, where I need to shift down to 4th from 5th where I may not have before. A little more weight and more contact with the road, I guess it is understandable. i am willing to make the trade, I love how they look!!!!!! Getting my 1.5 inch Teraflex leveling kit this week, that should be the cherry on top, just enough lift, I think it will look great!
