'012 Battery Change problems ?

Just ordered an Odyssey PC-1500. No current battery issues just being proactive. I have the 430N, remote start, etc. Any chance of activating anti-theft devices during the exchange ?

I have the new Odyssey battery perched in the garage, just waiting on some cooler afternoons to install it.

I have a 2013 and swapped my battery out recently. No problems at all, if anything, a slight improvement in starting but that could be me. I left the battery out at least 15 minutes too, the old one was leaking and dripping down the sides so the tray and all needed cleaning out first.

Nope. I put some new terminals in today and all is good. In fact when my keys were having issues (anti theft was kicking in). Was told to disconnect the battery for 15 min. Did it all is good.

You will be fine

Local 4x4 shop put an optima yellow top in for me. The trick they says it to clip a couple zip tie mounts (or whatever the fasteners are called that hold the wire loom to the firewall) and that frees up the extra length of cable needed to make the optima fit!

The Odyssey battery you bought is USA made but another $100+ more than the optima. I'll go that direction next battery

Just letting people know of other options. Also there's a write up on Project JK that covers yet another option:

USA for Odyssey & Mexico for Optima..
The extra $100 is due to Odyssey using exclusively virgin lead.

Thanks for the input guy's..

Anything virgin is worth the extra hondo. Especially the USA aspect which I didn't know till after I already had it in being worked on. They knew the trick and cleaned up all my wiring beyond my expertise so I was happy. Normally I'm doing a battery myself. Lol

Literally they had one of those manufacture's advertising matt's that was on the counter that I saw as I was signed for work to be completed and I didn't want to change it and screw up there schedule and mine
