07 JK Factory Side Steps

I was curious if anyone has removed the factory side steps? I don't like the look of them and probably will replace them soon. Comments.....?

Went with the Mopar tubes on mine. If ya gunna play in rocks, most people go with the sliders. Look great also!

I put them on myself and It was extremely easy. I know that's not what you are asking but what you are doing is just what I did but backwards. I think you have to undo 6 bolts So not hard to do at all. They are supposed to be torques to 8ft lbs so they should come off really easy. You might want to get some rubber mud flaps tho stones and road salt/sand don't come up off your tires and hurt the paint there is a set on q-tec that are removable with 1 pin for off roading

When we looked at our JK on the lot it didn't have the side steps installed. Looked like sh*t without them. The OEM's might not be the best looking but they're functional.

I agree with Knotty. A Jeep without side steps looks incomplete. However, I wish there was some side steps like the stock JK steps, but extend down lower a few inches. I have about busted my azz on a few occasions trying climb in AND out. Hahahaha. The side step is pretty high as it is and next to useless except for good looks. Maybe I am just getting old and need to lug around a two-step portable step stool. Hahaha
