09 JKU "liquid" noise

A friend of mine is in the process of buying an 09 JKU and while on a test drive, she noticed a "sloshing" noise. The deal checked it out and could not determine the cause/source. She described it as similar to the sound on a boat when liquid shifts from side to side. I have a 12 JKU and have never heard this noise in mine.

Has anyone else heard this and noise? Is it normal? Is it most likely the gas tank?

Thank you for the help.
Caleb

Doubt it's the gas tank. Water in the doors maybe?

Hmm, id say if possible at least try and determine the general area of the noise and go from there. brewbek may be right on the door thing. Take the doors off, shake em, and see if ya hear or feel anything.

Mine does this as well, but only after some serious rain, and my hard top leaks, my sounds like it's actually coming from inside the hardtop which sounds nuts.. but well.. thats what it sounds like.

It's in one of the freedom tops if it's a hard top. Mine did it, somehow water got in, drove me crazy till I found it

My last Wrangler had a lot of water inside both the front freedom panels right off the lot (used 2008, with only 15,000 kms, not even a scratch on it). There was a pin hole sized defect near the where the rubber seal meets the flange, on the back edge, on both panels.

I traded it in towards a new Jeep after 2000 km of dealing with the sloshing and the stink (the worst!!!) that came out of those panels. I don't know it it was ever fixed, or just sold with the soft top only (probably).
