09 JKUR upgrades recommendations please!!

Hey guys,

This is important info. I am looking into getting a lift for my 09 JKUR I was looking at a 4 inch lift. I was looking into getting a Zone lift. 4" JK Suspension System J14/J15 What do you guys think? They were in diesel power mag the other month. They seem pretty decent.

Also I was a real fan of LOD bumpers. I was looking at 2007-2013 Jeep Jk Signature Series Mid-Width*::*Front Bumpers*::*2007-2013 Jeep JK Products*::*Jeep*::*LoD Offroad

Also do you guys have an opinion on winchs with onboard air? I was looking at WARN PowerPlant Dual Force HP Winch - 9500-lb. Winch it seems a really good opinion so I could go on the beach and stuff, and not have to worry about finding a gas station to reair my tires. Just do it soon as I am off the beach. My only problem is if I get a winch with onboard air, I need to figure out if they will fit into that LOD bumper. Can someone with far more knowledge then me advise if it is a decent idea? I appreciate any info guys. I am new to the Jeep community and am loving it so far.

I get the Jeep wave at least once a day and I proudly wave back. Its an awesome feeling to be in this community. I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Zone is considered a budget brand and 4” lift is big for a JK. You have no idea what you are getting into with a 4” lift. You need a lot more parts to successfully run 4”. A good 4” lift that has everything you need exceeds $1000 easily, they are not $500.

Some things you would need not included in that kit are:
Adjustable control arms (don’t use the cam bolts it comes with)
Rear trackbar or at least a rear trackbar tower
Extended brake lines
Coil spring correction wedges
High steer
Front swaybar quick disconnects
Driveshafts
Also the Zone shocks are garbage

You can successfully run a 2.5” lift and run 35” tires and forgo nearly all that I mentioned above. Your call though.

Daniel M is right - a 4 inch lift for a JK is expensive. You have to plan for and deal with all the changed geometries, replaced or modded parts, and the labor.

Do a lot of research before dropping cash on a lift. What works for someone who only wants the image is far different than someone whose transfer case is in 4hi/4lo all weekend.

Thanks guys. I knew there was a reason I turned to you! U have a lot more knowledge on what was needed with specific lifts and stuff. I plan on wheeling and camping a lot using my jeep to get out to places. If the 2.5 left and 35s will allow that I'm sold on that. So will a 2.5 lift allow that?

Also any opinion on that bumper / winch?

teraflex 2.5" lift kit ---> Teraflex 1351000 - TeraFlex 2.5" Lift Kit without Shocks for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door - Quadratec
bilstein shocks ---> BILSTEIN 5100 Series Gas Shock Kit for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with 2.5" Lift - Quadratec

get a winch without onboard air. i hate to say this - winches can last a life time or last a year. it just depends. get a decent 8K winch and you'll be set.

for air - if you're going to wheel a lot, look into installing a permanent onboard air system Viair makes some nice kits with and without air tanks... here's the one i have ---> Viair 10007 - Viair Constant Duty On Board Air System - Quadratec otherwise any portable kit will be fine... like this one ---> http://www.quadratec.com/products/92043_000_07.htm

PM quadratec (a member on this forum).... he'll put together a quote for you with free or discounted shipping... then call and order!
