10A premium soft top issue

After finishing the painful task of installing my premium soft top on my '13 JK 10A, I discovered that the fabric does not cover the plastic door liners on the passenger side. Anyone else have this problem?

Two pics, one of the incorrect passenger side, one of the correct driver side

Is it just that it wont stretch far enough to cover? Thats what it looks like, sometimes the soft tops need some stretching to fit properly.

Park it outside on a sunny, warm day. You will be amazed how much your top will stretch when it has warmed up.

You might try taking out the windows and undoing everything in the back, then pull and latch the front. Make sure the little cable is not caught on something. Pull and stretch it into place. These things until they break in a little don't fall into place. You may just need to persuade it a little.
Good Luck and hope this works for you!

Yea everything is where it should be, the shadowing of the pic is a bit deceiving. Never had an issue with any of the other 3 soft tops. Guess I'll start the warranty claim if it doesn't stretch out soon. This is the first time I have dealt with a 'premium' top, but the others I've had with JK's sat perfectly flat.

Definitely not normal as the premium top on my Sahara sits perfectly flat. Never had any issues with it from the first time I installed it in March, mine was a dual top purchased late last September, so it spent the winter bundled up.

You most likely have a soft top for a regular Rubicon.
Did you buy this aftermarket?

There's a difference in how a soft top will fit a 10A and a regular Rubicon? I thought the 10A was just decals, wheels, bumpers, etc.. It uses a different soft top?

there's no difference in the body styles. I also don't think the premium top will stretch as much as the regular soft tops and they will be susceptible to poor fitment (think of jeans as the premium top and sweat pants as the regular one). Seems like it was made incorrectly from the factory.

That's what I'm going with, factory mess up. JWilson, thanks for confirming that premium tops should sit flat too. I'm fine with little things, like the rear window having some 'waves' in it, but this issue makes me worry about leakage.

Leaks and Gaps :(

I've got 2 issues with the softtop - the rear window doesn't seal properly against the gate (water leaks) and the driver's side rear door doesn't clip/hold to the frame.

Anyone else with this?

because you don't have it mounted right. It is a common mistake but not the tops fault.. You need to keep stretching the rear window into the door frame. You have it folded over at a 90* angle and in fact it needs to keep going another 90* essentially forming a U. When you get it right you will slap your forhead lol.

X2

Use the Velcro in the rear to hold the window while only zipping a couple inches. Tuck the window end into the "U" channel. Zip and give a good tug from the rear so it grabs the channel good. Then tuck into the body channel and Velcro.

Very common mistake.

oh man - thank you!!!

The side windows were wrong, I just went and fixed them... they stay on, imagine that

The rear might be another issue, I'll play with it some more - but overnight got a ton of rain in there, so I made a dealer appnt to have them check it out.

I'll post any updates... love this forum!
