Yep. Backup camera, sensors, lights... Very cool. But I'm not willing to sacrifice that much clearance. Although, with a 6" lift, I'd net as much as I would without it on the 3" lift I'm seriously contemplating... Think I should go bigger?!? LOL

I finally had some time to install the Welcome Distributing front grab handles on my 10A. The installation went smoothly, thanks to the following post from asianhulk -- the tips are invaluable.

These solid steel grab handles look and work great, I would recommend them.

2. Took the top hex bolt, added some loctite again and affixed the appropriate grab handle, threaded enough where vertically the hole for the side spacer lined up.
3. Pulled the grab handle to align the side hole of the grab handle to the hole to the side spacer.
4. Threaded the side spacer hex bolt (more loctite) about a half way.
5. Alternating the tightening of top and sides hex bolts until they were pretty snug.
-Repeat for passenger side-

With this method, there is no gap in between the spacer and grab handle and are rock solid. The side spacer is not parallel but angles downward but both handles are ROCK SOLID.

I'm getting ready to do the TF 4" long arm kit with 37's; do I need to trim the pinch seam and/or the rock rails?

Don't know for sure, but betting 'yes' to the rails, and 'maybe' to the pinch seam. The seam has been 'trimmed/modified' from the factory, but don't know if it will be enough for that combo. The rails clearly extend into that space though. You'll know once it all is on!

Looking forward to seeing your pics!

Any mod I do to my 10th Anniversary I want to easily undo. Being a 10th Anniversary edition several years down the road being able to get it back to stock may help resale to a collector or something.

My Mod Wishlist

Here is my mod Wish List anyway,

  1. In Dash Nav System (They couldn't get me one with the 430N Nav system already in it and it was too late to order one from Toledo that way.)
  2. Winch!

I understand your point, but for me I'm going to drive and wheel the heck out of it and make it mine because I've never bought a car as an investment. Anyway, I think that most people looking to buy a 10A down the line will really be looking for the the bumpers, hood and the badge that says it's a 10A and more than likely the new buyer will want to do a lot of the mods you do anyway...

Good Point. I didn't buy it as an investment either But to have fun with it, and function as a second/backup vehical, and to carry stuff that wont fit into my Cobalt Coupe.

I like the slope backwards. Where can you order? How does it attach to the bumper or frame? Thanks, I have looking for something to protect my grill.

I'm a bit concerned too, considering it for later mod. Since it wraps around the hitch, I figured minimal clearance lost and may provide some protect to the muffler and tailpipe. It looks solid and still hoping to see one in person before purchase. They have a similar setup for the front, however again not sure of clearance concerns.

Putting the Tuffy security center console insert and conceal drivers side drawer in her later this week. I'll post any observations on the project. There are quite a few threads already so hoping for no surprises. Wanted some "safe" areas for no top and soft top days and they seem like a low exposure and seamless option.

The winch mount, hoop, and aux light brackets all attach to existing mounting points.
The 10,000 Maximus winch is centered ...

There were attachment pics in the 10A thread.

Not sure I like the slope backwards - doesnt protect the lights at all and if I hit a deer it's more likely to come up and damage my hood. The grill is cheap - its the hood I worry about.
Seems more for looks than functional - I could be wrong, thats just my perception of it.

My thought is the bar mounting a few lights instead of the bumper mounting. But the photo of the set up looks great. I may have to sketch out a new mod plan if this is produced within the next month. The slope at the same angle as the grill is a nice look to me, curious about access to the winch and the cable spool?

What winch did you get and where can I get one and how much would it cost me?

Has anyone put skid plates on their 10A. Wondered if any alignment issues or difference due to the adjusted spring heights?

Considering an aluminum river raider setup unless there is a preferred competitor?

Current accessory list:
MOPAR Hard top cart, Bestop element doors (just basic bar door portion with mirrors), MOPAR soft top boot. Qtec door carts. Also the Bestop all weather cab cover. Installed MOPAR entry door guards, brake light bars

My mod planning priorities:
Almost complete:
1. Fix factory issues.
2. Security items, hood lock, door hinge locks, wheel locks, 2xTuffy boxes.

Pending:
3. Wired bikini top and tonneau cover? Not sure yet since dual top option already
4. Enhanced skid plating...Diff covers are likely my first armor mod, then river raider like skid plating setup, curious about protection for control arms and rear shock mounts?
5. winch and bumper/grill bar
6. lighting options: front bumper, improved back up lighting, window pillar lights, then full light bar over windshield. And Headlights, JW speakers maybe too much?
7. Always wanted a snorkel but not sure if bold enough to cut this hood, have to see how dent repair goes.

8. Then see how she settles with the extra weight and consider a lift to accommodate the additional load.

Welcome your thoughts and any suggestions?

The winch is sold through the same company. Go to maximus-3 for email and phone numbers. The company is based out of Detroit. This 10,000lb winch is considerably more affordable than the WARN winch.

I got my recon front led's in, put em in but didnt want to splice the factory harness for the resistors, if anyone wants em let me know.

Other than that put in the EVolution 8700's, IPCW tail lights, Mopar Light Grills ( used a #10x2 wood screws to hold the brackets on if anyone wanted to know), Metal Cloak center seat support, a blendmount radar holder, and Inside LEDS, with the outside plate light also.

I'd say it was a good weekend.

You can use a tap connector for the recon lights, which doesn't require cutting. Of course, even a resistor doesn't guarantee these lights won't trigger the EVIC no turn signal warning...

I was a little skeptical about these but after using the grab handles that strap around the roll bar I think I'm going to get these. Being 6'3 every time I try and look out the window I hit my head or knock my cap off. The strap ones just aren't in a good spot

I love this jeep, I haven't evens se the first payment yet and she already been in the lake, stuck four times, and has some character scratches down the sides. My plan was to
Keep this jeep for my son when I have one and just keep modifying but will see how long she hangs on

I really want a snorkel too but it will be in the way if my dually windshield lights which I like the look of, and I just can't see cutting into this hood

Well I finished my first MOD and I thought I would start with the DIY Grill Inserts. Thanks to Finn Sizzle for sharing this. I decided to use Rustoleum Sunrise Red Gloss Spray Paint... I think it matches the 10A red pretty nice. I also spiced it up a little. It was really easy and fun and the only issue I had was I forgot to pull away from the turn signals, so initially the grill did not come off until I realized it. These pics were taken in my garage at night, so I will post more pics tomorrow in the daylight.

Very nice, and I agree the sunrise red is real close in color!
