Will certainly share the details of the install with pictures - I got the idea from Uhohbaddog - I think he's about to install a set as well

Also installed the Maximus-3 winch plate and bull bar with my Superwinch Talon 9.5 - the Talon is just too big so I'm selling it and picking up a Zeon 10s to replace it

The Talon sits too high and too far forward - I picked up the light mounts from Maximus as well, but they won't fit with the Talon - hoping they fit with the Zeon

Getting my River Raider skid system in the next week as well - Jeep keeps getting more expensive

Doc - completely agree with you - I want to consider a lift eventually - but my kids are little - it's tough enough for them at this height so going to run stick for a while...

And a quick plug for Joe over at Maximus-3 - I had some trouble w/ the Talon winch - he's been reaching out and helping me along the way - great service...

have to say the same about Northridge 4x4 - for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to mount the ARB air compressor under my hood - David was kind enough to keep emailing back and forth with me to help me understand how to mount the compressor and move the factory location of the horn

Great to have such wonderful customer service after the sale from these companies - will certainly continue to do business there

You using the compressor for airing down / back up?

Which one did you wind up going with?

Picked up the ARB CKMA12 kit from Northridge - came with the compressor, air line, adapters, plate, and gauge - fits really well - just have to move the factory horn

Looking to use it for airing up or other misc needs

Nice mounting location - what bracket did you use? Looks like a better mounting location than mine turned out to be

What size did you get? I loved those rims, but the manufacture told me the 17" rims would not work on my 10A because of the offset. They told me I had to go to the 20's - No way I was doing that.

Just installed my rustys winch mount, zeon 10s, maximus centering plate, and sector 55.

Took a little custom work to make centering plate and rustys plate to work together but pretty happy with the end result.

That is an awesome look! Exactly what I was looking at. Did you have to use spacers? How far do they stick out past the wheel flares?

I did not use spacers. The tires are Toyo MT 35x12.5x17. They stick out maybe an inch in the front and 1.5-2" in the rear because the fender is more narrow.

I called Fuel in CA and they told me the 17's would not work on my Jeep because of the offset. They recommended to 20's - no way. I also wanted to keep my wheel/tires legal to avoid any issues. As you know, that wound be an expensive redo! Again, love your Jeep!

Hey guys! Well, today was to be The Day, I have everything I need (I think) to get these slick RR skids installed, and was all set to go. But then came the call to help out a friend with a move, and its one of those friends you can't say no to, so off I went with plans interrupted. I did finally get my SPOD installed tonight though. Pretty straightforward.

Aiming to bolt the skids up tomorrow and will post some images of the final product, and if I remember to take pics along the way, I will share those too.

Looks great! I have to agree with your earlier statement, Northridge4x4 has been excellent to work with on the items I've ordered from them, and the whole reason I went to them was best pricing and free shipping over $100.

I spoke with Fuel as well and they told me they will work perfectly in the 17's. I am waiting for my lift so I won't be installing these for a few weeks yet. They look killer on your 10A Gracey143!! I also had Butler tire here in Alpharetta, Ga look into it and he says I'm good to go. As for the backspacing, I will let you know for sure what it is tomorrow and post for you.. I have the paperwork on my desk.

Yes I know Finn, going with the Terra Flex carrier set up. I considered the AEV bumper mount but I think the Terra Flex is cleaner. My personal choice anyway. Thanks for the heads up though!

Glad to hear! I guess I got the wrong sales guy. If it looks as good as Gracey143's, you'll be a happy man! I decided to do the AEV Savegres and have no regrets. They look sharp, the are legal, and they are made specifically for the Jeep. I really liked the Fuel Trophy because it was new and different.

SPOD Mod

I owed pics of my SPOD install. Here are the mounted Source under the hood, and the stock overhead switch panel in the cabin.

I am planning a change out to dependent/independent switches from OTRATTW along with tying the independent to the dimmable dash lights as these two have done:

Darkfire's SPOD Switch Mod

Kramer2k's SPOD Switch Mod

BTW, check out the build threads of each of these guys, as well as Darkfire's wife's Jeep. All are very cool rides!

Tires are Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs 315/70R17, Lift is a 3" BDS with Fox shocks - lifetime guarantee! The ride is incredible and minimum road noise from tires.

Got Armor?

An often overlooked part of an offroad Jeep build is the underside, until it's too late and damage has been done. As I undertake the install of River Raider's Complete Skid system, I thought I'd give you a glimpse of my JKUR's stock belly skids. Mind you this is after just one trip up to Rausch Creek Offroad Park in PA for a 101 class that primarily stuck to Green and Blue trails. So pretty mild overall. I know I did bump one small boulder, and scraped it a bit over some gravel/dirt hills, but all-in-all, it was really a benign trip.

Here are the transfer case skid and cross bar (not the crossmember that supports the tranny) after I removed them:

Name:	IMG_2455.jpg
Views:	154
Size:	236.9 KB

Close up of the transfer case skid:

Name:	IMG_2454.jpg
Views:	151
Size:	238.6 KB

Looking from front to back on the gas tank skid on the passenger side:

Name:	IMG_2452.jpg
Views:	160
Size:	166.3 KB
ID:	279330

And finally, the kicker, the front passenger-side corner of the gas tank skid:

Name:	IMG_2456.jpg
Views:	161
Size:	180.9 KB
ID:	279331

Looking at that last one, I feel like I got lucky. Bottom line is that the stock "skids" if you can call them that, don't offer much coverage or protection at all if you're doing more than trail or beach riding. Next up, I'll share the unboxing of my new skids.
