'13 billet, 4.5 AEV, 37's

Picked up my new Billet JKU Friday. Been working through the weekend getting mods added. Almost complete except for electrical and stereo.

They definitely howl but I knew that before ordering. Last jeep had 35" Toyo MT and they were super quiet.

are your 4.88s enough for those beasts? i am running much lighter 35" MTR/Ks on 4.10's and i think i am borderline (on 6-speed too).

I think 4.88 is good for 37's on the pentastar.

After your last post, I felt sorry for your jeep. All that to stay on pavement. With that said, I like it except for rims. And please take it offroading.

I was thinking of waiting for this color because I love the contrast of the black against it. AWESOME JEEP I just always liked the flame red and I heard they were discontinuing it so I searched and found one three hours away with everything I wanted. Maybe I will have to get my girlfriend the Billet one LOL.

That's where my mind immediately went too. I scanned through the list hoping to find them somewhere.

I'll say this, you work at a fast pace to get all those mods installed in a weekend. You're pretty efficient man!

Amazing work.

Question on the N-Fab Wheel to Wheel Steps. How sturdy are they and how did the install go? I've been planning on getting Ace RR, but I like the dropped steps. I don't like drilling or cutting and read that it might be required for installs.

Rig will never see dirt and only driven 5k miles/yr. AEV doesn't call for new driveshaft on'12+ models. Their are plenty of 4"+ rigs with oem driveshafts.

If mine fails then I'll replace at that time.

Steps are plenty sturdy. As for install, mine were 95% aligned but one bolt on each side was off by 1/4 inch. Couple of hammer swings on the bracket and all lined up.
I had to drill one hole on driver side pinch seam to open it up to 3/8. The hole is already there, you're just increasing the diameter. The pinch seam is like foil drilling through it. I installed them by myself using a bucket and some books to rest one end on will I bolted on the other.

I can't believe you'll make it 5k miles with OEM shafts and 4.5" of lift. Let us know if you do. I'd expect they'll be humming and spitting grease in under 100. I'm happy to be proven wrong though.

With tires like that, I'd think a deep pot hole at a decent speed might bend your Cs. Again though, happy to be proven wrong.

Does really look great. Very nice. The half doors are a great touch.

If you keep all four on the level ground you might just get away with the stock driveshafts. The rzeppa joints tend to shred the rubber when they are pinched at max angle.

That said I'm still sitting here in utter disbelief the rig will never see dirt.
