13 rubicon question

I just ordered a new rubicon and I am second guessing a couple of options. I am installing a mopar stage 2 lift kit and 35 inch tires (not sure which tires/wheels yet). Anyway, the shop said that if I don't change the gears which I am not doing, I have to get a Manuel because the computer will not switch correctly on the highway. I would prefer an automatic, but ordered a Manuel.

Question is, if I get an automatic, are there any changes required if I want to run 35s on a 2 in mopar lift kit. According the the shop, this is only an issue with the '13 and not the older models. Thanks for the help, I'm pretty new to jeeps.

If you want an automatic, get an automatic! What gears are you ordering with your rubi 3.73 or 4.10?

You would just need to get a Procal or a tuner, then set the new tire size. Once this is done, the computer and trans will function fine.

Get a Procal and you can reset tire calibration and more with it.

Get the auto with the 4.10 gears then order a procal from AEV. Simple and works very well with 35's.

your dealer is full of it or just wants to push manuals...which to put it quite frankly belong in a jeep

Hopefully you ordered 4:10s

Thanks, I'm going to switch the order to an automatic with 4:10s. Thanks so much for the help, just wanted to be able to slowly drive around the property without pushing the clutch in every few minutes. Last question, can I play songs with my iPhone if I don't get the connectivity package (base rubicon)?

Rubicon is geared at 4.10 standard. If you're rolling around mild terrain and don't want to bother shifting, you would probably be happy with the automatic.

For your music, and for a rather inexpensive option, I would suggest considering the "Connectivity Group".

I went with a very basic Rubicon, but I included that option.

From the build out website at Jeep.com, here's what comes with it.

Tire Pressure Monitoring Display
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System continuously checks all four tires and provides individual tire pressure readings to keep you informed of potential over or under inflation which could degrade handling and vehicle safety.
Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
Electronic Vehicle Information Center
Remote USB Port (Unavailable with some configurations)
Uconnect® Voice Command with Bluetooth® (Unavailable with some configurations)
Communicate virtually hands-free with an in-vehicle, voice-activated system that allows you to talk using your Bluetooth®-compatible phone.

Only with the 6 speed correct? The auto is standard with 3.73's.

I go to the US website, select Rubicon, change to automatic and the 4.10 gear stays highlighted. The 3.73 is there as an optional selection at no cost.

Edit. I do see it ads a charge by the 4.10 when you select AT. So technically its an 'option' I suppose. :-)

Interesting. It was an option when I ordered mine. The 4.10's are definitely the way to go if 35's are even a possibility.

Yeah. It stays on 4.10 and puts $110 by it in place of $0. I wonder what the dealer order system does....

2013, the standard for a Rubicon with a automatic is the 3:73, there is a option of a 4:10 at the cost of $195.00.

Thanks for the help, they are having trouble finding a basic rubicon, so I will see if they can add just this option. Definitely want to be able to listen to music from my iPod/iPhone. And I'll make sure to order the 4:10 gears.
