15"s on a 2012?

Do all the same rule apply to the 2012"s in regards to 15" wheels?
ie, backspacing and only certain brands fitting.

haven't heard of any changes made to the axles except a wider range of gear ratios for '12... the same rules should apply, but even on the older ones, those rules weren't really 100%, because the calipers are cast and not machined to exact dimensions, so some needed a shave and some did not. Mine needed very minor grinding on a single caliper to remove a very minor amount of "casting flash", but no issues at all as long as you stick with the proper BS... it's really nowhere near as complicated or difficult as it sounds

Cant believe they dont give you guys the bigger front discs - been standard down here since early 2010 models (13 in front discs) which means we are stuck with 17in rims, or some 16's if you go to a 3.5in backspace

Mate it was one of your posts which made me change my rim order from 15" to 16" for my 2010, despite being skeptical about the brake size issue (no amount of googling could get me brake sizes on different years of JK).
Lucky I changed - my 16s only just fit. 15s, no way. Lucky again the 15s were on a lengthy backorder and I had time to update my order.

Yeah I havent been able to find any information on it at all. The 2010 and 2011 info on the Jeep Australia site showed the smaller discs despite them being delivered with the larger ones. The 2012 info though does now show the larger discs, but the US site still shows the smaller discs.

Have no idea why they decided we needed bigger brakes!
