15x8 or 15x10

What are the advantages or disadvantages of going with a wheel size of 15x8 or 15x10 with 35" tires? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm looking to order tire and wheels in the next few days and don't want to screw things up.

15x8 for 10.5" tires, 15x10 for 12.5" tires is a good rule to go by. If you put a 12.5" tire on a 8" rim the side walls will bulge and the tread section of the tire will be rounded where it comes in contact with the ground as apposed to having the full contact patch, which will wear the tires unevenly.

15x8 air down and hold the bead better.
15x10 have a more stable feel on the road.

Will depend on how wide your tire is. Both can work, some folks like the 8" with the 12.50 tire as they feel it holds the bead on better at lower pressure off road. Some folks like the 10" as it is already wider and does not need to be aired down as much for a similar contact patch. I have run both rims widths with 12.50 wide tires, no major problems with either.

I'm running 15x8 with a 35x12.5 tire. off-road I can air down into single digits and not worry about that tire coming off. the off-road footprint is insanely large, so traction is superb. another plus is tire pressure for street is very forgiving. I've run my street pressure as low as 22 and as high as 30. same wear pattern.

this is tied into it's downfall. crowning. you can't get rid of it. the wear patter appears like you're running with too much air, no matter the psi. seriously, and others running this setup will back me up, its really not bad. it's a small price to pay having 15x8's on 35's. factor in all the benefits of 15" rims, then it only being 8" wide..you'll see what I mean. 35's, nor 15" rims are ment for street queens. the combination of 35x12.5 on 15x8's CAN'T be matched off-road
