17mm Custom Plug Remover?

Just curious what creative solutions you folks found to remove the 17mm tranny drain plug from an '08 Rubi. For some reason, Chrysler thought it was a fun idea to route the exhaust directly below the tranny drain plug. I have a transfer pump and could always drain via the fill plug, however, I'd like to see the particulates on the magnetic drain plug. Thanks in advanced...Jon.

I took a bolt with a 17mm head and put two nuts on it and tightened them against each other. Then used it to remove said drain plug.

Thanks. I've also heard of cutting a short section from a 17mm allen wrench.
