18v lightweight chain saw -- a great option on trail

I bought this for around the house. I've had a nice Husquarvana 16" chainsaw for years, but it seems like every time I need it (rarely) it doesn't want to start. If I used it frequently it would probably run all the time, but you know how 2-stroke gas motors are.

So I began buying the B&D series of 18v lawn equipment last year. I now have 2 blowers (one for the vacation house), two string trimmers, two chainsaw-on-a-10-foot-poles, and this new chainsaw.

Amazon.com : Black & Decker CCS818 18-Volt Cordless Electric Chain Saw : Power Chain Saws : Patio, Lawn & Garden

Because all four items came with the battery, I throw two or three batteries in back of the Jeep along with the saw. Weighs nothing (probably four or five pounds without the battery), comes with a nice hard plastic blade guard that slides on and off.

It's not for everybody, but for clearing tree branches that are wedged or jammed, so that you could winch the trunk out of the trail, or cutting smaller trees that have gotten across the trail, it sure beats an axe.

Good idea...I wish that Dewalt would come out with something similar for their 18V tools.

I received one as a gift a couple of years ago and it works better than I thought it would.
I purchased their better charger and a couple of extra batteries. With a power inverter I can charge the batteries as needed.
