1st time 4 days in a row

...that I've ever left Nellie Belle in 4x4 .....

snow ice & single digit temps since sometime last year it seems.....OK, ok....maybe only 4 days.

It was so slick I had to drive out to the mail box yesterday instead of walking.....but the driver window was frozen shut....

got plenty of firewood at arm's reach, don't need to go anywhere for a while.......life is good.....cold & snowy but good.....

I have plenty of logs for the fireplace. It is dire cold today here in Phoenix - 57 degrees lol!

But I am going to Cleveland next week. I suspect....it will be much much much colder and definitely snowier! My son has a JKU so I will try to play in the snow in 4wd while I am out there. I am originally from Cleveland of course - no idea on god's green earth how I survived winter there for let's just say a few decades.

Stay warm. And be careful if you do have to go out. In the desert so long as I have water and sunscreen I can survive none the worse for the wear and just maybe a little crispier around the edges. But at single digit temps - hypothermia (sp?) and frostbite can happen. And my pet peeve - when it is so cold nose hairs freeze together lol!

....nose hairs????.....*kaff*kaff*......

stopped the unusual clunking around in the back of the JK.....found a couple water bottles frozen solid in my ditty sack, banging against the roll bar...

That's cute. We had -30 celsius several days this week. Never needed to take it out of 2H.

Lol you guys make me laugh...all excited to get couple inches of snow. Where I am, -46 Celsius yesterday and driving is like driving on a hockey ice. To much snow to even think of playing in it, get stuck after maybe 10feet if you go fast enough haha.

I hate winter but the colder it is the better is the money !! (That's a personal philosophy)

I love my jeep, best vehicle I ever drove in my life for winter. Can't wait to get back home to drive it !!

Happy winter jeepers !!

I'm gonna assume (yeah I know) that (-) is a dash rather than a negative (-57)... Yeah I'd be really careful in 57* those kinda temps you may even need to put pants and closed toe shoes on!!

Funny how some people judge their manhood by not using 4 wheel drive. I always have to laugh when the light turns green and the big 4x4 in front me is spinning its tires and not going anywhere.

Jeep with $5000.00 + in mods spinning its tires in the snow = priceless

They likely don't know how to put it in four wheel drive.

I understand the notion that "4x4 isn't really needed in only x inches of snow" ....and if it were just me out there on that plus the inch of glare ice under it, 2H would work fine. Given there's no clue what the others are going to be doing I like to keep my options open.

The point originally was that there's been enough weather to justify actually not changing in/out. That's a pleasing condition for a few days as normal 2H/LSD has proven very adequate for surprisingly many otherwise edgy road conditions. Now it looks like stuff will start melting tomorrow.

The opportunity to learn what the various electronic gizmos do
during slick conditions, even after 3 years in this JK, is welcomed as well.

At least it WAS cold enough to require checking the air pressure as the tire pressure gizmo had been on alert the post 4 days till I took it in. Yes it needed a few pounds in all of them.

Lol! Truth. Number of pairs of closed toe shoes I own-one pair of cowboy boots, one pair of tennis shoes. Looks like its "wear your cowboy boots to work" weather. I think we are supposed to be back pushing 70s end of week. This 57 is below average.

It's less need to prove manliness, and more experience & skill. And I'll turn the traction controle off on perpose. I don't mind a little rwd wheel spin.

I am not sure why anyone would buy a 4x4 if they are determined not to use it. We have had about a foot and a half of snow and I see guys everyday on my commute with 4x4's that don't have it engaged, shooting rocks at everyone spinning their wheels when the answer to their problems is just a shift away. These people should take the bus.

To the OP ours has been in 4 wheel drive for a few days too and days like this are why I bought it. Stay warm and drive safe!
