the Toyo AT2 285/70/17 are 32" when mounted. I had them on my previous jk. 285/75/17 will net you closer to the 33" you prefer. 285/70 or 285/75/17 should suffice and give your jeep a nice look.
285 will suffice, but imo wider looks better on the JK. I run a 305/70/16 which are almost 12.5" wide where as the 285's are 11.20" wide (33").
It's all about the way you want your Jeep to look and tires are expensive so make sure you get what you want or you'll be stuck with them for quite a while.
We had a record snow fall winter this past year here in Ontario Canada and my 305's were every bit as good in the snow as my 255 (10" wide) BFG Mud terrains were even better on packed snow and ice so don't let the wider tire scare you away.

305/70/17s are 12" wide. Under vehicle load they measure just a hair over 33". They are wider by .5" over 285/70/17s. Under load the 285/70/17s are only about 32". I went with 305s in KM2s when I replaced my first set of 285s because they just had a little beefier look than the 285s and gave me just over .65" increase in ground clearance.
The only problem with this sizes is tread and brand selection. There are only a few ATs and about 4 MTs to choose from. On the plus side all the brands offering this sizes are good.
In my images there are several photos of the 305s on my JKU with a 2.5" lift if you care to check them out.
285's are 11.20" wide 305's are over 12" closer to an inch wider than 285's and that's using a tire size calculator site quite a big difference and very noticeable. I've had mine beside 285's and they look narrow compared.
these are 285/75-17 toyos true 33's but often referred to as 34's on a 2" lift. do it right the first time and get 35's. Everyone I know myself included has regretted not getting 35's from the get go. We have all said the same thing 33's are fine but a month later it's dang why didn't I just get 35's.
I'm very happy with 33's and 3.73 gears. Re-gearing is almost a must with 35's along with other issues especially for a daily driver so unless one is using the vehicle for primarily off road it wouldn't be very efficient otherwise.
The 12.5" wide tires are over an 1" wider so it comes to the look you prefer: wider tires vs near pizza cutters. the wider the tire the more debris will get slung around the side of the Jeep. Some states also have vehicle that prohibits the tires from sticking out beyond the fenders.
Wider tires on a moderate lift make the Jeep look more stout and narrower tires make it look taller and more athletic. Would you rather look like a linebacker or a wide receiver?
Just got back from business trip, and am better able to see the pictures.
